Death Café - Circle of Sharing -- TWICE Monthly!
https://nextvillagesf.org/event/death-cafe-circle-of-sharing-twice-monthly-5/Death Café – Circle of Sharing — TWICE Monthly!
Tuesday, September 8th & 22nd, 1:00 PM
Many of the Death Café attendees asked for a little more connection during this crazy time. Kudos to our fearless leader, Meg, for agreeing to facilitate two times per month. A unique opportunity to share what’s on your mind regarding this often-unspoken subject. It’s not morbid, we promise! If ever we needed a place to talk about death, this is it!
Death Café’s (http://deathcafe.com/what/) have been steadily gaining fans. At Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. Even though you will all be in your homes, please enjoy some tea and cake during the call!

Crisis Communications & Management -- Takeaways from Princess Cruises' COVID Response
https://nextvillagesf.org/event/crisis-communications-management-takeaways-from-princess-cruises-covid-response/Crisis Communications & Management —
Takeaways from Princess Cruises’ COVID ResponseWed, September 23, 2020 5:00PM – 6:00PMIs your organization ready for a crisis you haven’t foreseen? Even the best PR crisis management teams probably didn’t prepare their clients for a global pandemic and its ramifications. While you can’t role play every crisis your organization may encounter, it is critical that you are flexible and ready to respond to things beyond your control that could change your business overnight.
Few people understand this better than Gordon Ho. As the recent CMO at Princess Cruises, he was at the center of the maelstrom as passengers from the Diamond Princess cruise ship were quarantined on board as the coronavirus outbreak unfolded. Gordon shares an overview of key events and crisis communication learnings from the Diamond Princess coronavirus outbreak in Japan.
Gordon will share in-depth information about Princess emergency preparation, care teams, content strategies and communication plans in this engaging session. In addition, he’ll share lessons learned to help you and your organization prepare to be responsive, flexible, and adaptive to unanticipated crisis that could impact your customers, staff or other constituents. Hopefully your team will never face the type of crisis Gordon’s team did, but his experience navigating pandemics, politics and people can provide valuable lessons to help you prepare for the unexpected. This event is organized by the Stanford Club of San Francisco and NEXT Village members are invited to attend.> Zoom login & phone dial in number will be sent in reminder email from NEXT Village 24 hours prior to event.CANDIDATE FORUM: DISTRICT 3 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

https://nextvillagesf.org/event/stress-busters-workshop-5-steps-to-deal-with-stress-d2u/Stress comes in many ways. It’s that uneasy feeling we get when we’re upset — whether it’s because we’re angry, worried, depressed or disturbed for other reasons. For many of us, it’s hard not to be stressed and anxious in the midst of challenging times.
In Stress Buster workshops, we’ll learn how stress starts and a simple effective method to handle your reaction to situations. You’ll learn a five step process to reduce stress and help you better respond to any situation in a helpful way, instead of getting upset.
This series has been a lot of fun and practical for participants! Leave each session with new insights on how to better handle whatever life throws at you.
Stress Busters (also known as Ding Sum) has been serving seniors in San Francisco for over 30 years, reaching 900 people through monthly in person seminars. Until we can meet in person again, join us on Zoom to learn how Stress Busters five simple steps can help you handle stress, make better decisions and live a more positive life.
Speaker – Eileen Chan is a native San Franciscan, trained as an optometrist and married with three grown children. She has volunteered with Stress Busters since the organization was founded over 30 years ago.
