Be Ready: Disaster Preparedness and Response
10/14/20, 3-4 PM
We all know we need to be prepared, but too often people put off planning for disasters until it's too late.
Earthquakes are a matter of when, not if, for the Bay Area. While San Francisco has been spared the wildfires raging throughout the state, fires do happen here.
If you had to evacuate your home with only minutes notice, are you ready?
Join us to learn about the most important steps that you can take to be more prepared for a disaster, and to better respond when it occurs.
We'll focus on actions you can take to prepare including building your support network to help you through an emergency, creating an emergency plan that includes evacuation procedures, building a "Go-Bag" of essential items to take with you, and more.
We'll also cover what to do during and after a disaster, such as signing up to receive emergency notifications, heeding warnings and recovering afterwards.
Use this event as your motivation to take control and make a plan.
If you already have an emergency "Go-Bag" pull it out and take stock so you can replace expired items and make sure you have what you need ready to go.
