Solo Agers: Is a Fiduciary Right for You?
https://nextvillagesf.org/event/solo-agers-is-a-fiduciary-right-for-you/What if you don’t have family or friends you could count on to make financial decisions for you if you have an accident or health crisis?
A common issue many Solo Agers face is who to trust to make critical decisions for them if something happens.
Solo Agers are single or married people who don’t have children or whose children or extended family live far away or are not part of your daily life.
If you don’t have family or friends available or appropriate to assist you with bill-paying or to manage your affairs should something happen to you, licensed private fiduciaries are a valuable option to consider. Jean McClune and Dana Conklin will explain in an easy to understand way what fiduciaries do, if one might be right for you and how to find someone to meet your needs. Topics they’ll cover include:
- What is a licensed private fiduciary?
- What services do private fiduciaries offer?
- What roles can they serve in?
- How are they licensed?
- How to find, interview, & assess a fiduciary for your particular needs?
In this series, we continue to explore and understand options available to Solo Agers. Fiduciaries have been recommended by some previous speakers in this series, so we are excited to have Jean and Dana join us to help you understand how a fiduciary could help you.
Presenters: Jean McClune, CLPF and Dana M. Conklin, CLPF are professional fiduciaries licensed by the state of California to provide estate and trust administration services by serving in the roles of trustee, executor, agent under a power of attorney (for finance or healthcare), or conservator (of the person or the estate). They have a combined 30+ years of providing custom fiduciary services to seniors in Northern California.
