Cardio and Strength (Live Fitness Class)
https://nextvillagesf.org/event/cardio-and-strength-live-fitness-class/In this three part series, we will be going over the basics for maintaining physical health and well being. Our main focus areas will include cardio, strength, balance and mobility. These exercise routines can be done in the home or the gym, with minimal equipment required. For example, we will be utilizing chairs and steps to develop leg strength and cardio. We will also use doors and counters to help build balance as well as upper body strength. Each exercise will come with options to male the experience more comfortable or challenging.Tony Jones is a certified personal trainer from the Bay Area. He loves to help his clients develop and maintain long term active lifestyles. He believes that exercise is as much a tool of self empowerment as it is a way to get in shape. He uses different training strategies and styles to help clients build self confidence, resilience, and stay active for life! Before attending the class, please complete the waiver and return it to rsvp@nextvillagesf.org: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dRn3owkvUhQYOOCcT44NV_5uTrgONB0P/view?usp=sharing - 16December 16, 2020

NEXT will offer Death Café on the third Wednesday of the month from 2-3pm
A unique opportunity to share what’s on your mind regarding this often-unspoken subject. It’s not morbid, we promise! If ever we needed a place to talk about death, this is it!
Death Café’s (http://deathcafe.com/what/) have been steadily gaining fans. At Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. Even though you will all be in your homes, please enjoy some tea and cake during the call!

https://nextvillagesf.org/event/stress-busters-introductory-workshops-5-steps-to-deal-with-stress/Stress Busters INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOPS – 5 Steps to Deal with Stress
Stress comes in many ways. It’s that uneasy feeling we get when we’re upset — whether it’s because we’re angry, worried, depressed or disturbed for other reasons. For many of us, it’s hard not to be stressed and anxious in the midst of challenging times.
In Stress Buster workshops, we’ll learn how stress starts and a simple effective method to handle your reaction to situations. You’ll learn a five step process to reduce stress and help you better respond to any situation in a helpful way, instead of getting upset. Stress Busters (also known as Ding Sum) has been serving seniors in San Francisco for over 30 years, reaching 900 people through monthly in person seminars, and now via Zoom!
This weekly series is fun and practical. Leave each session with new practical insights on how to better handle whatever life throws at you. This Introductory series is for anyone who hasn’t done Stress Busters before, or for anyone who would like a refresher!
